BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

Why is it so important for you to be filled with the Holy Spirit? Here’s a partial list of some of the things you can expect when you’re filled with the Spirit.

  • You’re surrounded by the Spirit’s shield of protection, continually (2 Cor 1:21-22; 5:5; Eph 1:13-14; 1 Pet 1:5).
  • You have an inner dynamic, strength and power to handle life’s pressures (Zech 4:6-7; Rom 8:11; Eph 3:16-20; 1 Thess 1:5).
  • You have an internal filtering system that warns you about deception and convicts you of personal sin (John 16:7-8; 1 Tim 4:1-14; 1 Jn 4:1-4; 1 Cor 12:7-19).
  • You’re able to be joyful…regardless of what life throws at you! (Acts 13:52; 16:25; Gal 5:22-23; 1 Thes 1:6; 1 Pet 4:13-14).

  • You have a helper, comforter, intercessor, counselor, strengthener, standby, teacher, advocate and friend who will remind you of God’s truth (Jn 14:26 AMP; 16:12-15). He’ll give you the wisdom and power to SAY what needs to be said, DO what needs to be done, and, LIVE the way God wants you to live!
  • You have the capacity to grasp the deep things of God that He wants to reveal to you in His Word (1 Cor 1:9-12; Jn 14:26; 16:12-15; Eph 1:17-18; 1 Cor 2:10-13).
  • You’ll be able to maintain a positive and pure attitude of unselfishness, servanthood, humility and submission (Eph 4:1-3; Gal 5:22-23; Col 3:12).
  • You will have a keen sense of discernment and wisdom about what’s right and what’s wrong (Isa 30:21; 1 Cor 2:10-11).

  • You will have an increased capacity to love and be loved in return (Gal 5:22-23; Rom 5:5).
  • You can rely on the Holy Spirit to pray and intercede for you and through you even when you don’t know what to pray for as you should (Rom 8:26-27).
  • You will have the power to stand alone with confidence regardless of what the evil one brings against you (Zech 4:6)!
  • You will be able to live above the fray of worry and fear (2 Tim 1:7).

  • You’ll be empowered to minister through a unique set of spiritual gifts (1 Cor 12:7-11; Rom 12:6-8; 1 Pet 4:10-11).
  • You will have an intimate, abiding relationship with your Abba, Father (Gal 4:6; Rom 8:15-17).
  • You are able to “build yourself up in your most Holy Faith by praying in the Holy Spirit” (Jude 1:20).
  • You have the ability and power to produce good fruit that glorifies God and blesses this world (Gal 5:22-23).
  • You have the power to share your faith and accomplish the mission of Jesus with courage and confidence! (Acts 1:8).
